UN: Félix Tshisekedi calls for better representation of Africa on the Security Council

The Congolese President, also current President of the African Union, was the first African Head of State to speak from the UN podium during the organization's 76th General Assembly which opened this Tuesday.
He made a series of grievances on behalf of the continent.

At the podium on Tuesday, Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi, also current president of the African Union, spoke for Africa by reaffirming the demand for better representation of the African continent on the Security Council of ONU.
It is a question of the effectiveness of the United Nations and of justice to be rendered to a continent, better to an entire section of humanity.

The Congolese president thus requested that two additional African countries sit on the Council in the category of non-permanent members, and that two other African countries can sit on the Security Council as permanent members with a right of veto.

Africa refused to become the base of international terrorism
".
Islamist fundamentalism has spread to the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, lamented Félix Tshisekedi, after having spread to Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad, Burkina Faso and Mozambique.
