"Topical international issues were considered with an emphasis on the situation in Afghanistan, Syria, Libya and Mali, the situation in the post-Soviet space (including the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement), the state of strategic stability in Europe and the possibilities of cooperation in the Arctic and the Asia-Pacific region," - the statement says.
It is noted that the parties also discussed the situation in Ukraine and exchanged views on relations between Russia and the EU.
The Russian side again pointed to the futility of building relations on the principles of "rebuff" and "shackling", as they are trying to do in the European Union.
"Confirmed openness to equal and mutually beneficial cooperation on the basis of a balance of interests," the message says.
