Iran's President Seyed Ibrahim Raishi criticized US sanctions in his first address to the UN General Assembly.
"Sanctions are a new way for the United States to wage war with nations around the world," Laishe said in a video address to the UN General Assembly.
The Biden administration hoped to restore the Iran nuclear deal, which Trump unilaterally abandoned, but the ongoing negotiations between the international community and Iran have been suspended without progress.
Iran has demanded the lifting of all sanctions on its country as a precondition for the restoration of the nuclear agreement.
