When SVT visits one of Sweden's trainings during the ongoing B-WC game in Östersund, it is the new assistant coach Daniel Tjärnqvist who holds the training.

There is a lot that is new for the otherwise so experienced 44-year-old from Vännäs.

He is now doing his first tournament with Sweden, and due to the pandemic, it has not been possible to play very many training matches either.

- It will take a while before you get into it, everyone probably knows that.

Even Timo said he felt rusty.

But it is important to get started as quickly as possible because it is an important tournament now here in Östersund, says Daniel Tjärnqvist.

"A wonderful bunch"

Most of the squad has been playing together for a long time, which is noticeable.

The atmosphere at the training is relaxed, fun and the glimmers hail between both the players and the "newcomer" Tjärnqvist.

It is happily told about how they salted each other's coffee or mixed strange things in the sports drink.

- They are fantastic!

It is a happy and wonderful group that also has the will and fighting spirit that is needed in a national team, says Daniel.

In the video above, you can follow Sweden's training and meet the new assistant coach Daniel Tjärnqvist.
