September 21, 2021A 43-year-old American tourist fell from 3 meters, who died last night after falling from the balcony of a hotel in the bay of Paraggi, near Portofino, where he was spending the holidays with his wife. The man died instantly from severe head trauma. The emergency services of 118 were useless.
According to what was reconstructed by the Carabinieri, the man with his wife after a trip, were spending the evening on the balcony of the hotel. When the couple decided to return, they would have noticed that the French window had closed and could not be reopened.
The two allegedly tried to call for help and contact the lobby, but they would have no answers. At that point, the man climbed over a parapet and tried to descend from a height of about three meters.
It seems, however, that a tile on which he was leaning has given way. The man lost his balance and fell. The Carabinieri heard some witnesses on the incident. The wife is in shock.
