The municipality has, among other things, reviewed the costs they have for staff parking.
They have also looked at what nearby municipalities have for fees for their staff car parks before they decided to increase the parking fee to SEK 3,000 per year, ie SEK 250 per month.
According to the deputy mayor, however, that money is not enough, but it would still have been the case that the municipality subsidized parking spaces for its employees.
- What we are now discussing is to go to a lower level so we will continue to subsidize to some extent, says Henrik Åström, deputy mayor of Vännäs municipality.
During the week, the municipality will discuss the issue and the hope is that they will be able to give an announcement about the new parking fee next week.
