With all 144 constituencies counted, it was clear on Monday morning that the Social Democrats will be disturbed in Västerås diocese.

The second largest party is politically independent in the Church of Sweden (POSK) with just under 21 percent, the Center Party received 15 percent of the votes and thus becomes the third largest.

The turnout in this year's church election for Västerås diocese was 17.68 percent, which is a decrease from 2017 when the figure was 19.30 percent.

A total of 55,609 people out of the 314,487 eligible to vote.

Västerås diocese includes the whole of Dalarna and Västmanland as well as the northern part of Örebro county, the diocese has a total of 74 parishes.
