The new Lebanese government wins the confidence of Parliament

The Lebanese Parliament has given its confidence to the new government headed by Najib Mikati, which was formed after 13 months of emptiness and is facing difficult tasks, most notably trying to stop the economic collapse in the country.

After discussing the ministerial statement during a long eight-hour session, 85 MPs gave their confidence to the new government, while 15 MPs withheld confidence in it, according to a count announced by Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
