At 08:00 today, what is intended to be the government's last full-year budget before the election is announced.

The budget for 2022 contains reform proposals for approximately SEK 74 billion.

Here we have gathered some of the areas presented in advance.

  • Approximately SEK 12 billion more is spent on climate and environmental initiatives.

  • 8 billion more is spent on getting more people into work, including initiatives for the unemployed, education and raising knowledge.

  • The fight against crime will receive 2.5 billion more, money which, among other things, will go to fighting criminal gangs and preventive work.

  • Taxes will be reduced by SEK 10 billion, primarily for low- and middle-income earners, people with unemployment insurance and people with sickness and activity compensation.

In addition, 5.5 billion is spent on other initiatives that, according to the government, will provide more money in the wallet.

  • There will be almost SEK 10 billion more for initiatives linked to the pandemic.

The big question, however, is still whether the budget will be voted through in the Riksdag.

For that, support is probably needed from both the Center Party and the Left Party.

It now remains to be seen whether those parties think that they have achieved so much in the budget that they will support it.
