LO is above all positive about the investments in labor market policy, labor market training and regular training.

At the same time, LO predicts that it is not enough to remedy long-term unemployment.

- In the long run, this will not be enough, says Åsa-Pia Järliden Bergström, acting chief economist at LO.

LO also criticizes the government for moving forward with plans to privatize the Public Employment Service.

However, welfare initiatives - such as Family Week - rhyme well with LO's priorities.

Criticism from the business community

According to the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, the investment in the family week will cost much more in the form of lost working hours in the economy than the billions in payments that the state has budgeted for.

As for the rest of the budget, CEO Jan-Olof Jacke wants to divide the rating into two parts.

- It is good that you stimulate lifelong learning with both the reading and adjustment program and the establishment jobs that come into place.

On that subject there will be a B.

- But it is failed when it comes to labor supply.

It is bad that they reduce the supply at a time when we have a very shortage of labor.

"The school needed ten times more"

The government proposes school investments of 1.3 billion, which will, among other things, go to increased student support.

The direction is right, according to the National Union of Teachers.

But the government has totally misjudged how much the school needs, given the consequences of the pandemic, according to LR.

- Only the actual loss of knowledge during the pandemic, we estimate that it would cost ten billion to make up, says chairman Åsa Fahlén.

- If students do not have the knowledge they need, it will probably give students problems later on.

Either in the school system or in working life.

I do not really think that the consequences can be seen yet.

Municipal: V should vote yes

The budget is "very good" for Kommunal's members, says union president Tobias Baudin.

The billion-dollar investments in welfare, family week and the opportunity to be on sick leave after 365 days are highlighted as some positive examples.

Now Baudin is urging the Left Party to vote yes to the budget.

- I expect the budget to go through in the Riksdag.

Of course, we can do exactly what they want, but I hope that you do not do things for the sake of the political game, but really think about the well-being of the welfare workers.
