KABUL

-

After the Afghan Taliban movement captured the capital and the withdrawal of foreign forces, the citizens breathed a sigh of relief, as the war ended across the country, but after the Taliban announced its government made up of its members only, the people of Kabul consider that they need psychological security, because the new government is unable to Adjust the situation, causing them to worry about their future.

For the first time in two decades, a single force was able to extend its control over the entire Afghan soil, turning the page on the war that lasted 20 years, but the citizens still feel the instability of the country and the lack of psychological security.

"Despite the security and calm in the street, people still do not feel psychologically safe, due to reports of disputes between the Taliban leadership, and the high rate of poverty and unemployment," says Farid Hakim.

In his speech to Al-Jazeera Net, the citizen believes that the citizens "welcomed the end of the war, and were optimistic about a better future, but the Taliban movement has not yet succeeded in presenting its vision about the government and its program to eradicate poverty."

He added, "There is another problem that the people suffer from, which is unemployment. With the Taliban taking control of all the states, most of the employees of the previous government lost their jobs, and now they are suffering in providing a living and paying rent, and they have become accustomed in 20 years to this way of life, and now within a month they have lost all Something and this affected their psyche a lot."

Shabnam (pseudonym), a student at Kabul University, looks at the capital's situation from another perspective, the situation of women. "Since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, women have suffered more than others, they have been completely excluded from social activities, and the new generation of Afghan women is accustomed to participating," she says. in social activities, but now she is confined to her home.”

She expresses to Al Jazeera Net her belief that "the Taliban movement should not change its position and its treatment of women, so as not to leave countries and Western media an opportunity to attack them from this door."

"Women are already concerned about economic, social and personal security, and I call on the Taliban to take care of women's psychological security, allow them to participate in social activities, engage in work, and open the doors of universities and schools to women," she added.

basic need

Psychological security is considered one of the important needs in society, and its absence causes severe damage to society and the individual.

“After the Taliban came to power, all segments of society are worried in some way about their safety, government employees worry about losing their jobs, businessmen worry about the security of their investments, young people worry about their future, and women worry about their studies,” says Abdullah Awab, a professor of sociology at Kabul University. its work, and its participation as an active member in social activities.”

Owab adds to Al-Jazeera Net, "These cases are directly related to psychological and physical security, and the Taliban movement must be clear in dealing with these segments, and it falls within its responsibilities to provide guarantees to improve their living and security situation, and that the security of people over their lives and property depends on their psychological security, and should Pay more attention to this issue.

A Taliban source believes that the US and Western statements regarding al-Qaeda and the Islamic State have a negative impact on the Afghan citizen, because they lose confidence in the movement's ability to control the security situation.

The source confirmed to Al-Jazeera Net that "reducing the Afghan problem to airport accidents after the American withdrawal, and the Taliban's inability to control it, sent negative messages to the people who have the right to worry about their future, because there are those who deliberately exaggerate the ability of al-Qaeda and the Islamic State to return to The interface within two years, according to the American and Western perception.

The same source believes that "the American and Western propaganda machine affects the mood of the Afghan street, and pushes it to plan to leave his country, because there are those who want that."

Exposed situations and security concerns

In addition to the negative mental image left by the Western media in the consciousness of the Afghan citizen, the overall situation in Afghanistan increases the psychological anxiety of the population over the future of life.

These include closing banks, freezing Afghan funds in the United States, and non-payment of salaries to government employees.

This prompted Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaki - in his first press conference at the Foreign Ministry - to say, "The United States and the international community should not politicize humanitarian and financial aid, because the Afghan people urgently need this assistance."

The United Nations estimates that Afghanistan has a population of 38 million, nearly half of whom are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance.

This is in addition to the security concern from which the citizen has not rested for 40 years. The last of these incidents was the awakening of the people of Kabul and the city of Jalalabad to detonations of explosive devices that killed 3 civilians and wounded more than 25 others, including Taliban militants.

On this, security and strategic expert Najib Nankial says, "These explosions bear the hallmarks of the Islamic State, as he is trying to test the Taliban's heart, because targeting the movement's forces in the city of Jalalabad confirms the presence of ISIS remnants in Nangarhar Province, the main stronghold of ISIS."

In his speech to Al-Jazeera Net, Nankial believes that "these explosions affect the public mood, and make the citizen believe the statements that talk about the return of the Islamic State and Al-Qaeda to the fore again, so the Taliban must prevent this until it proves to the international community and the people that it can control the situation and secure their lives."
