Over the years, Brunnsparken's future has been discussed extensively and it has been suggested, among other things, that housing be built in the area.

In 2017, the municipality decided that the park will be a district park similar to Stadsparken by Svartån in central Örebro.

- Like the wishes that have come in, we want Brunnsparken to be a more vibrant place where more people can experience the park's different possibilities, says Anders Hagström (KD), chairman of the building committee.

The detailed plan proposes, among other things, new walking paths and maintenance of the park's old buildings.

Dating back to the 17th century

Brunnsparken's history dates back to the 17th century when a health well was located where Brunnsparken is today.

The park became a national park in 1934 and was officially given its current name in 1962.
