An Israeli court decided to extend the detention of the two prisoners, Munadil Nafeat and Ayham Kamji, for 10 days pending investigation, after their arrest at dawn today, Sunday, while the Israeli government described the escape of the six prisoners as a serious flaw.

The Israeli police and intelligence services had demanded to extend the detention of the two prisoners, Nafi'at and Kammji, pending investigations, for 15 days.

The court held a special session, to discuss extending the detention of the two prisoners, who were re-arrested at dawn today.

An Israeli occupation force arrested the two fleeing prisoners in a building in Jenin, in the West Bank, after it surrounded the building in the eastern neighborhood of the city, and threatened to blow it up if the two prisoners did not surrender.

The families of the two prisoners held the Israeli government responsible for the lives of their two sons.

Fouad Kammaji's father said - during an Al Jazeera bulletin - that his son told him by phone before his arrest that he and Nafi'at would surrender without resistance;

To protect the residents of the building, after the Israeli forces threatened to blow it up.

In an interview with Al-Jazeera correspondent, a member of the Defense Committee and lawyer for the prisoner Kammaji said that Ayham was beaten from the moment of his arrest in Jenin, in the military enclave, and in Salem camp north of Jenin, and he suffers from severe pains in the chest and neck.

Ayham told his lawyer that he asked to see a doctor, but the prison administration did not respond to his request yet. The lawyer added that Ayham wanted to visit his mother's grave, but he was unable to do so, and that he arrived in Jenin on the third day after escaping from Gilboa Prison.

Ayham revealed to his lawyer that the occupation forces shot him during his escape, when he cut the barbed wire towards Jenin, but they did not recognize him or hit him. He was not noticed.

Extension of the detention of the four prisoners

An Israeli court in the city of Nazareth had agreed today to extend the detention of the four prisoners who were re-arrested;

Muhammad, Mahmoud Ardah, Yaqoub Qadri and Zakaria al-Zubaidi, 10 days pending investigation at the request of the Israeli police and intelligence.

The sessions are held via the Zoom application, under the pretext of the spread of the Corona virus, which the defense team considered a violation of the right of confidentiality between the lawyer and his client, and a violation of the fair foundations of trials.

Khaled Mahajna, the lawyer for the re-arrested prisoner Muhammad Al-Ardah, said that the decision to extend the detention of the four prisoners weakened the position of the defense team, and that the prisoners were deprived of their most basic rights during detention.

Lawyer Mahajna added - in an interview with Al Jazeera - that the court imposes a complete blackout on the details of the investigation, and the charges against the prisoners.

On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett - during his weekly cabinet meeting - described the Palestinian prisoners' success in escaping as a serious flaw at the intelligence and operational level.

Bennett added that the process of arresting the prisoners was swift and courteous, and was joint between the Shin Bet security service, the police and the army.

A week ago, the occupation forces arrested the two prisoners, Ardah, Qadri and Al-Zubaidi, who escaped with Kmmajji and Nafeat from the Gilboa high-security prison on the sixth of this September, through a tunnel they dug from their cell outside the prison, which caused embarrassment to the Israeli security establishment.

Today, the Islamic Jihad movement has held the occupation authorities fully responsible for the lives of the prisoners who were re-arrested after escaping from Gilboa prison.

The "Jihad" called on the military wings of the resistance to remain in a state of alert and high readiness to defend the prisoners, stressing that the battle is still going on.

For his part, Hazem Qassem, a spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), confirmed that the Al-Qassam Brigades (the movement's military wing) will keep its promise that the six prisoners who managed to escape from Gilboa prison will be at the head of the upcoming exchange deal.

Qassem said that working to liberate the prisoners from the prisons of the occupation will remain at the top of the priorities of the Palestinian resistance.
