According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the department received a message about an SOS signal via a satellite system from a lost US citizen who is on Mount Elbrus.
“The rescuers of the Elbrus high-mountain PSO EMERCOM of Russia in the amount of four people and one piece of equipment were involved in search and rescue operations,” the department said.
In May, one person died of a heart attack while climbing Mount Elbrus with a group of climbers.
