Earlier, the European Parliament approved the report of the Lithuanian MP Andrius Kubilius with an appeal to the EU authorities to reconsider relations with Russia.

“Throughout this resolution, the idea that Russia has a bad government, president, parliament runs like a red thread.

And there is a certain good Russian people striving for democracy, to whom MEPs are eager to help find "the way to the light," TASS quotes Chizhov as saying.

The Russian permanent representative said that such an attitude of the European deputies would be perceived by many Russians only as an insult to their intellect and ability to think independently.

In turn, Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin said that the adoption by the European Parliament of a report calling for tougher policy towards Russia is an attempt to interfere in internal affairs.
