The Al Habtoor Group celebrated yesterday the graduation of the first batch of Emirati nationals as part of the training program launched by the group in May 2021, to introduce Emirati youth to the hospitality sector and prepare them to join the labor market.

The ceremony was attended by the founder and chairman of the Al Habtoor Group, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Vice Chairman and CEO, Mohammed Al Habtoor, and a number of senior management members.

The first batch of 30 Emirati trainees who joined the program in May 2021 received certificates of completion at a ceremony held at the Al Habtoor Group headquarters on Al Wasl Road. After the ceremony, the top 13 trainees signed contracts with the group to join its team.

Since the launch of this initiative through his Twitter account, Chairman Khalaf Al Habtoor has closely followed the trainees from the beginning of their journey with the program, and then throughout its stages, keeping pace with their development.

In this context, Al Habtoor commented: “We are committed in the group to educating our sons and daughters, and preparing them to be pioneers in tourism, which is a very important sector in our economy.”

He added: “We have invested time, effort and money in training them in various fields of the hotel sector, and helped them to see the full experience in its various aspects from the point of view of workers in the hotel sector.

I am glad that almost half of the trainees decided to take this adventure and continue working in the field.”

Al Habtoor said: “We are in the process of receiving the second batch of trainees in the Hospitality Department, and we have launched the same initiative in all our units in different sectors. They are our children, and I am very pleased to welcome them to our family.”

Vice Chairman and CEO, Mohammed Al Habtoor, expressed his encouragement to the new employees who joined the group, expressing his pride in the enthusiasm shown by the Emirati trainees to learn and help complete the program.

He added, "We have received promising evaluations of their commitment to fulfill their roles as they should, and their pride in engaging in the Emirati hospitality sector. This program is part of the ongoing commitment shown by the Al Habtoor Group to increase the number of Emirati nationals in its workforce."

Khalaf Al Habtoor: “In the group, we are committed to educating our sons and daughters, and preparing them to be pioneers in tourism.”
