A man died during the night from Friday to Saturday, after a shock with a fire engine in the town of Anzin in the North, we learned from the emergency services.

Called for an intervention around 3:40 am, the vehicle "collided" with a man, still unidentified, who was "probably lying on the road" according to the first elements, specified the fire department.

The exact circumstances remain to be determined and an investigation has been opened.

“The man died at the scene”, despite an attempt at resuscitation by the crew of the vehicle.

These three firefighters "were immediately replaced by colleagues", and "a psychological support unit was deployed", added the firefighters.
