The former mayor of Villepreux (Yvelines) was tried this Thursday before the judicial court of Versailles for sexual harassment on two complainants, between 2018 and 2019.

Stéphane Mirambeau would have sent hundreds of inappropriate messages to two women he had tried to integrate into his campaign team for municipal 2020, reports Le Parisien.

The ex-elected would also have requested naked photos and used fake accounts on social networks to get in touch with his victims.

Alcohol addiction

During the investigation, some employees of Stéphane Mirambeau would have confirmed the harassment of the city council with several women.

He would even have been threatening.

At the bar, the defendant, aged 53, would have justified his actions by his addiction to alcohol and a difficult break in 2017. He did not dispute the often vulgar content of the messages, but refutes the accusations of harassment.

The prosecution requested against the former mayor twelve months in prison, six of which closed, a measure of ineligibility for five years, as well as the obligation to take care of himself and to no longer come into contact with the complainants.

The judgment will be rendered on October 7.
