September 17, 2021 "We are not leaving today for Israel, probably next week, maybe Tuesday". This was said by Or Nirko, Eitan's paternal uncle, in front of his house, responding with a few words to the reporters.

At home there is also aunt Aya, legal guardian of the 6-year-old child, the only survivor of the tragedy of the Mottarone cable car and brought to Israel last Saturday by his maternal grandfather Shmuel, under house arrest in Tel Aviv (the measure expires today) accused of kidnapping and investigated in Pavia for kidnapping together with his maternal grandmother Etty. Or has therefore ruled out that the couple will leave this weekend, but probably next, perhaps Tuesday, to see the baby again, after a short quarantine and before the hearing scheduled for 29 September.

Aya's Israeli lawyers have in fact activated the procedure of the Hague Convention on the international abduction of minors to ask for the child's immediate return to Italy. Meanwhile, the investigations of the Pavia prosecutors are continuing to reconstruct the path of Shmuel, who drove the child to Lugano to take a chartered flight to Israel, and the alleged complicity in the blitz.

Grandfather, I went out with regular validation of passports

"I just can't understand what you are asking of me. I received a legal opinion and I crossed the border with a regular validation of passports." Thus Shmuel Peleg, Eitan's grandfather, answered a question about the 'kidnapping' of his grandson in the preview of the interview given to Canale 12. When asked if he was not afraid that one day Eitan could read what happened on the internet when he grew up. "ugly conflict" between two families, Shmuel Peleg, visibly moved, replied: "Grandpa will tell me you did everything possible to save me". Then - he added: "when my daughter (Tal, ed) one day meets me in heaven she will be proud of me that I saved her son, that I took him to her house".

The Italian consul visits child:is in good health

The consul at the Italian embassy in Tel Aviv met little Eitan Biran this morning in the presence of his maternal grandfather Shmuel Peleg. The consular visit, organized in agreement with the Farnesina and made possible also thanks to the collaboration of the Israeli authorities, "was aimed at verifying the situation and the family context in which the minor currently finds himself". "Little Eitan - said embassy sources - appeared in good health".
