The church election's structure is similar to the election to the municipality, the region and the Riksdag.

In the polling station, there are ballot papers of three different colors that will go down in each envelope.

The

white

ballot papers are used at the local level to vote for the church council.

The church council controls the work in the parish or pastorate (group of parishes) where you live.

The

pink

ballot papers are used at the regional level to vote for the diocesan council.

Sweden has 13 dioceses and you can only vote for the diocese where you are registered.

In the fact box, you see which area is covered by each pin.

The

yellow

ballot papers are used at the national level to vote for the church council, the Church of Sweden's highest decision-making body.

There are 251 members from all over the country.

Not all nomination groups run in all elections, some focus solely on the church council or selected dioceses and parishes.
