September 17, 2021 The 70th anniversary of the NATO presence in Italy is celebrated in Naples. The head of state Sergio Mattarella was present.



NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana has been in Italy yesterday for an official three-day visit. First stop on his mission at the Sigonella base, where he was accompanied by a delegation of ambassadors to the Atlantic Alliance.



Today in Naples Geoana participates with the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella in the ceremony organized to celebrate the 70 years of NATO presence in Italy.



The President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella will be a guest of the NATO Base of Lago Patria, in Naples. 



The honors will be made by Admiral Robert Burke, commander of the allied Joint Forces Command in Naples, as well as commander of the US naval forces in Europe and Africa.
