On Friday, the news came that Hanif Bali is taking time out from politics due to the investigation.

Ongoing internal battles

All elected representatives within the Moderates must sign a so-called candidate declaration.

This states, among other things, that "I should take 'time out'" if I am in a legal process that risks being disrupted, or if it risks undermining my ability to maintain my trust ".

The party can not force a member to take time out, however, they can decide to exclude someone from the party.

According to information to SVT Nyheter, there have been internal battles within the Moderates since the news that Bali is being investigated for sexually inappropriate behavior within the party, an investigation that has now been paused.
