Landowners rage against government after power line decision: "They run over us"

The power line is necessary to manage a reliable electricity supply in southern Sweden, claims Svenska kraftnät.

On Thursday, the government made a decision on a permit for the Nybro - Hemsjö section.

The Ekhydda route to Nybro will be re-examined by the Energy Market Inspectorate.

Tingsryd municipality is one of several municipalities where landowners will be affected by the decision.

There is already a 400 kilovolt line from before.

Mac Gideson, like many other landowners who protested against the overhead line, believes that Svenska kraftnät would instead dig down the line or build higher.
