"On September 16, at about 22:00 (19:00 Moscow time), the police station on duty received information that in the area of the Russian-Polyansky tract there is a man similar in signs to the wanted citizen," the message says.
An investigative and operational group immediately arrived at the scene.
“The attacker tried to escape, but was soon detained by police officers in the courtyard of a nearby neighborhood and taken to the police department,” the law enforcement officials said.
On September 13, a prisoner serving his sentence escaped from the colony-settlement No. 13 of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Omsk Region.
According to media reports, the man was serving a 16-year sentence for murder, hijacking, robbery and kidnapping.
