Shortly after 4:30 am this Thursday morning, the Haute-Garonne firefighters were alerted to gunshots near Villemur-sur-Tarn.
But it was in the village next door, in Villematier, that they found a young woman wounded by a gun in her vehicle.
She would have driven alone to the town hall square where she would have waited for help.
The days of this 23-year-old Haut-Garonnaise, affected in the chest, would not be in danger according to the departmental fire and rescue service.
The pellets would have passed through her bosom.
She was taken to hospital.
An investigation by the gendarmes is underway to determine the circumstances of this assault by firearm.
