16 September 2021 The day began with the rebound for the Milan stock exchange, yesterday the weakest along with that of Madrid.

Starting today + 0.98%.

In the rest of Europe + 0.65% for Frankfurt, Paris and Madrid, London + 0.45%.

The stocks most penalized yesterday, even if only in part, are recovering: Enel, yesterday -5 and a half, today + 1.45%; A2A yesterday -4.21%, today + 1.85%. Energy suppliers are at the center of attention because government interventions have been proposed to mitigate the rise in utility bills. Yesterday's decline is due to the assumptions that the Spanish government is following the path, which has foreseen both tax cuts and a tax levy on the extra-profits of the operators of hydroelectric and nuclear power plants. Yesterday, Enel was the most penalized for the decline of its Spanish subsidiary, Endesa.

In terms of new energy, the price of oil surged, with Brent rising by two dollars to 75.6 dollars a barrel, also because oil stocks in the United States fell more than expected. Today a slight decline, to 75.4.

Asian indices down overnight. In Hong Kong (-1.51%) the stocks of gambling companies based in Macao especially fell, because the Beijing government is expected to tighten up in this sector as well, after the technological one. Furthermore, the liquidity crisis of Evergrande, the second Chinese real estate developer, weighs once again: fears are of a domino effect on banks and other construction companies.

Yesterday Wall Street was not affected by these dynamics, the main indices closed up, Dow Jones + 0.68%, Nasdaq + 0.82%; index futures are flat today. The data on new weekly unemployment claims in the United States is expected at 2.30 pm.

Among the other titles of the Ftse Mib today stands Cnh Industrial. According to reports from Il Sole 24 Ore, the spin-off of Iveco from the group could take place in January.
