In connection with the shooting in Ryd on Wednesday evening, the police were able to arrest a man in his 20s.
The man was later arrested by prosecutors.
- Observations on the spot, including from a police patrol, made us direct our interest towards the detainee, says chief prosecutor Eva Nemec Nord.
Shot in the head
The victim is also a man in his 20s, who was seriously injured in connection with the shooting.
- He is alive and we have held interrogations with him.
But he is seriously injured and shot in the face, says Eva Nemec Nord.
Power struggle among the gangs
In just under five months, there have been eight shootings in Linköping where three people have died.
Eva Nemec Nord believes that there is a conflict among different gangs in different parts of the city.
- The interpretation I make is that we have detained several people in the criminal gangs and it always creates a shift in power and a positioning struggle.
Then there is an active conflict between the various groups in Linköping.
We have Berga, Skäggetorp and Ryd.
Then we do not have a clear idea of how these events are connected, but we know that there is concern in the gang environment right now.
