He said this at a meeting of the Interim Commission of the Federation Council for the protection of state sovereignty and prevention of interference in the sovereign affairs of Russia.

“Regularly at various levels we raise the question of the unacceptability of the practice of arbitrariness that is taking root literally before our eyes on the part of digital giants, who are increasingly maliciously abusing the absence of an international legal framework for regulating their activities and are already systematically evading the execution of the prescriptions of Russian legislation under the guise of jurisdictions of their origin,” TASS quotes Gavrilov.

Earlier, the head of the commission for the protection of state sovereignty, Andrei Klimov, said that the actions of the American companies Apple and Google during the elections in Russia are considered by the Federation Council as interference in internal affairs.

During the meeting, he noted that the actions of Apple and Google during the Russian elections are viewed "as illegal and directly related to interference in the purely internal affairs of Russia."
