The interim deputy premier of the Afghan government, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar appeared in a video interview, denying the rumors of internal disagreements within the Taliban leadership and his injury in a dispute with some members of the Haqqani Network, the faction linked to the Pakistani secret services.

Showing himself on video from Kandahar, Baradar wanted to reassure his state of health and deny the news, spread in recent days, that he wanted to be hospitalized or even dead.

"It is not the truth", declared the interim deputy premier and co-founder of the Taliban, "I am well and healthy".

"I have been outside Kabul and have not had access to the internet to reject this fake news," he added.

The short video, posted on Twitter by the Taliban political office in Doha, shows him sitting on a sofa next to the interviewer on state television, as he appears to read the answers on a piece of paper. "Thank God, we have good relations with each other and we respect each other, our relations are better than those of a family," he added, referring to relations with the Haqqani.
