China News Service, Beijing, September 15 (Reporter Guo Chaokai) In response to the United States’ air strikes in multiple countries over the past 20 years, Zhao Lijian, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a regular press conference on the 15th that the United States has committed serious crimes overseas. Human rights crimes are hard evidenced by facts, and justice is in the hearts of the people.

A reporter asked questions. According to reports, in the past 20 years, the United States has launched more than 90,000 airstrikes in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries, and the highest number of civilians killed in airstrikes was 48,000.

What is China's comment?

Zhao Lijian stated that the United States has committed serious human rights crimes overseas:

First, the United States used false intelligence to instigate a war, causing a tragic human rights disaster.

The United States used a small bottle of laundry detergent as "evidence" of chemical weapons to launch the Iraq war, and used the "White Helmet" organization to shoot video as "evidence" for airstrikes against Syria.

In the 240-year history of the founding of the nation, the United States has not fought for only 16 years. From the end of World War II to 2001, there were 248 armed conflicts in 153 regions of the world, of which 201 were initiated by the United States, accounting for more than 80%.

Since 2001, the United States has illegally launched wars and military operations that have caused more than 800,000 deaths and tens of millions of people have been displaced.

Second, the United States slaughtered civilians in the name of anti-terrorism, and owed heavy debts.

Since 2001, about 335,000 civilians have been killed in wars launched by the United States.

Just before withdrawing from Afghanistan, the US military carried out an air strike on a residential house on the grounds of anti-terrorism, killing 10 civilians, including a 2-year-old child.

In the 2005 incident in the town of Adissei, Iraq, which shocked the world, the US military killed 24 Iraqi civilians, including the elderly, women and young children, indiscriminately because only one person was attacked. It was brutal and bloody.

In 2017, the United States launched the so-called "most accurate airstrike" on Raqqa, Syria, resulting in the death of a large number of civilians.

A former U.S. soldier stated that the U.S. drone attack was purely "killing for the sake of killing."

Third, the United States has aggressively pursued unilateral sanctions, which severely endangers the human rights of the people of relevant countries.

Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the use of unilateral coercive measures by the United States has not decreased but increased, resulting in a shortage of epidemic prevention materials in sanctioned countries such as Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, and Syria, insufficient food supplies, limited access to education and information, and humanitarianism. Socialist assistance has been blocked, and these unilateral coercive measures without the authorization of the Security Council have brought serious disasters to the survival and development of local people.

Zhao Lijian emphasized that the facts are as hard as a mountain, and justice is in the hearts of the people. What is ridiculous is that the United States always plays the banner of "protecting human rights." When the United States launches a war of aggression, what human rights does it protect? When the US military shoots and drops bombs on civilians, what human rights does it protect? When the United States wields the sanctions stick, what human rights does it protect? (over)
