TASS informs about this with reference to the press secretary of the diplomatic mission Nikolai Bryakin.

“We have officially asked the Czech Foreign Ministry about the grounds for the detention of a Russian citizen.

We haven’t received an answer yet, ”Bryakin said.

On September 14, a court in Prague ruled to send into custody the Russian Franchetti, who was detained on September 12 at the Prague international airport at the request of Ukraine.

Earlier, Russia sent a request to the Czech Republic in connection with the detention of Franchetti.

It was also reported that Franchetti was a participant in the events of the "Crimean Spring" when the peninsula returned to Russia.

Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum in March 2014, in which a majority of residents voted in favor of reunification with Russia.
