North Korea fired an unknown projectile into the East Sea today (15th), the Joint Chiefs of Staff said.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff delivered this through a text message sent to the reporters during the day, but did not mention specific details.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff is known to be analyzing the origin and altitude of the launch in relation to today's launch of a projectile by North Korea.

This is the fifth time North Korea has held an armed demonstration this year, just two days after it announced that it had successfully test-fired a long-range cruise missile (reported on the 13th).

Earlier, North Korea fired cruise missiles on January 22 and March 21, right after Biden took office, and on the 25th of the same month, short-range ballistic missiles in violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

Usually, when military authorities detect ballistic missiles, they quickly notify the media.

Accordingly, it seems likely that the unknown projectile launched by North Korea today is also a ballistic missile.
