The woman asked Bastrykin to initiate a criminal case against the vice-rector.

Murtuzali Medzhidov, who had met Tomiris Baysafu, was arrested two years after the girl's death. He was charged with murder. The jury found Medzhidov not guilty on June 8, 2021.
