The U.S. Senate has been criticized by both parties for the chaos caused during the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.

At a hearing in Afghanistan held by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on the 14th local time, Secretary of State Tony Blincoln was summoned, and Bob Menendez, chairman of the ruling Democratic Party, denounced the US withdrawal as "clear and fatally flawed."

Senator James Rishi, Republican secretary, also called it "a disastrous failure."

Some Democratic senators have tried to favor the Biden administration by placing fundamental responsibility on the Trump administration, but there are also a number of senators who have joined the criticism.

"Strategic rivals like China and Russia, and adversaries like Iran and North Korea, we're going to rekindle the war and push it further, 5, 10, 20 years in Afghanistan," Blincoln said, stressing the need to focus on strategic competition with China. He would like to be more immersed in it,” he said, emphasizing the legitimacy of the withdrawal.

At the hearing on the same day, Secretary Blincoln also appealed for the approval of nominees for key positions in the State Department.

Currently, Rep. Cruz has put the brakes on the approval of dozens of people to impose additional sanctions on the 'Nord Stream 2' gas pipeline project that directly connects Russia and Germany.
