A man was sentenced to three years in prison, including one year suspended, by the court of Coutances (Manche) on Monday.
In the night from Friday to Saturday, the defendant appeared in front of a nightclub in Saint-Lô.
Aged in his thirties, and already known unfavorably by the establishment, he was not accepted at the entrance by the security guard.
He first became threatening, reports France Bleu Cotentin.
Then he got back to his car and came back to the nightclub equipped with a gun.
He then fired on the security door of the establishment.
At the time of the shooting, the security guard was behind the targeted door.
He had bent down to speak to a client.
Within seconds, therefore, he could have been hit in the head.
Another client was hit.
"You are lucky to be here and not at the assizes"
The 23-year-old was operated on at the weekend to remove the shards of metal left in the wound.
28 days of temporary incapacity for work were prescribed.
According to her lawyer, she is very shocked and "in a state of post-traumatic stress".
"You are lucky to be here and not at the assizes", declared the president of the court during the hearing.
"I never wanted to hurt anyone, I had drunk too much"
replied the defendant.
The man, who admitted the facts, is the father of two children.
He has a number of criminal records, including robberies and drug smuggling.
His weapon had also been bought illegally and the defendant did not have a license.
He was jailed immediately after the court hearing.
