“Unfortunately, today the actions of the Ukrainian authorities remain a model of violation of the rule of law and an example of non-observance of freedom of speech,” the letter says.

The appeal points to the facts of the closure of media outlets in the country without a trial through decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, sanctions and other mechanisms.

“With regret, we must state that the Ukrainian government has crossed all the boundaries of reason and continues to disregard Ukrainian legislation and international norms, purposefully destroying freedom of speech in Ukraine,” the appeal underlines.

It is noted that the appeal was signed by the collectives of seven media outlets, including the publication "STRANA.ua" itself.

In February, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced his decision to impose sanctions on the 112 Ukraine, NEWSONE and ZIK TV channels.
