According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korea’s ruling party, the Common Democratic Party, is in full swing to select presidential candidates. Former Prime Minister Ding Shijun, one of the candidates, announced his withdrawal from the election on September 13 local time.

  According to the report, Ding Shijun held a press conference in the National Assembly that afternoon to thank his supporters, saying that the united Democratic Party and the new Republic of Korea will return to the status of ordinary parliamentarians.

When asked about the opportunity of deciding to resign, he said that he decided to resign after a long discussion with lawmakers.
