The Disciplinary Section of the CSM sentenced to suspension from functions and salary all the five former directors who on 9 May 2019 participated with Luca Palamara and the parliamentarians Luca Lotti and Cosimo Ferri at the meeting at the Champagne hotel in which the appointment of the prosecutor was discussed From Rome.

By gravity this is the second sanction, after the removal from the judiciary, which was inflicted almost a year ago in Palamara.

Luigi Spina, Antonio Lepre and Gianluigi Morlini were sentenced to suspension for one year and 6 months. Corrado Criscuoli and Paolo Cartoni for 9 months.

The decision came after a ten-hour council chamber.

The Attorney General of the Cassation had asked everyone to be sentenced to suspension: two years for Spina, Lepre and Morlini and one year for Criscuoli and Paolo Cartoni.

The sentence is appealable before the United Sections of the Cassation. If the suspension were confirmed by the Supreme Court, a maintenance allowance would still be paid during its duration.
