  The joint speech pointed out that the US-led military intervention in Afghanistan is the root cause of the humanitarian disaster in Afghanistan.

As of April 2020, at least 47,000 Afghan civilians have been killed in the war in Afghanistan launched by the United States, and more than 10 million Afghans have been displaced.

The neighboring countries of Afghanistan are also severely affected by US-led military intervention.

  The joint statement stated that military personnel from the United States and other countries should be fully and impartially investigated for human rights violations such as the killing of civilians and torture in Afghanistan. The perpetrators must be brought to justice, and the victims have the right to justice and compensation.

These countries should be responsible for what they have done in the past 20 years and fulfill their commitment to the peaceful reconstruction of Afghanistan. They should not leave after a huge disaster in Afghanistan and transfer the responsibility of helping Afghanistan’s reconstruction to the international community.

  The joint statement called on the High Commissioner for Human Rights to continue to pay attention to the serious negative impact of military intervention by these countries on the human rights of the Afghan people, and to hold their soldiers accountable for crimes such as killing Afghan civilians.
