While the number of Asians is increasing

The percentage of white males is declining in British universities

Many white boys do not go to college because of their marital status.

Figures show that the number of white students enrolling in classes has decreased by 10%, compared to 2014. In contrast, the number of Asian students increased by 26%, and Asian women by 39%.

This staggering disparity was revealed by analyzing the numbers provided by the admissions service.

In the UK this year, a record number of candidates secured places to study within a month of the announcement of secondary results.

It is scheduled to start 448,000

And 80 students are studying this fall, compared to 441,720 last year.

But the number of white males has fallen from 127,330 in 2020 to 127,250 this year, the latest evidence of a long-term decline.

The alarming data is renewing fears that white working-class males are lagging behind in the race to obtain the qualifications normally required for a good job, and that the government's "upgrading agenda" is faltering.

And in this year's report, MPs found that white children received free school meals - boys in particular, more frequently at school compared to other racial groups.

As a result, only 13% of white working-class boys go to higher education.

The Education Committee's report warned that these children had failed due to decades of neglect.

Academics have called for the issue to be addressed. "Successive governments have failed these children," said Matthew Goodwin, a professor at the University of Kent.

"We have made real progress in supporting more young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in higher education, with record numbers securing a place at university this year, but we know there is more to do," the Ministry of Education said in a statement.
