The investment to protect valuable nature is described by Minister of the Environment Per Bolund as the "by far largest investment ever in Swedish nature".

- This means that we continue the green restart of the Swedish economy, he says at the press conference.

The government proposes 2.4 billion for the protection of valuable nature for 2022. The investment is aimed at the promotion of biological diversity, cultural environment, outdoor life, reindeer husbandry, hunting, fishing and the hospitality industry.

The money will also go to the possibility of compensation to landowners for protection of forests close to mountains.

Also aims to strengthen property rights

In addition to this, the government wants to invest SEK 810 million in developing forest policy.

And SEK 100 million will be invested in the years 2022-2024 to promote local economy and employment in rural areas.

SEK 50 million is proposed per year 2022-2027 to promote outdoor life.

Minister of Trade and Industry Ibrahim Baylan emphasizes that the purpose of the investment is also to strengthen property rights.

- The forestry industry is incredibly important, 100,000 employed, 10 percent of our economy.

Then a sustainable development of the forest industry is necessary, he says at the press conference.

There is a line of conflict in the issue of forest policy where the Center Party has demanded a stronger right of ownership in order to release the autumn budget.

Bolund says at the press conference that a negotiation is now underway between the government and the Center Party regarding forest policy.
