According to the information reported at the Press Conference on Epidemic Prevention and Control held by the Putian Municipal Government of Fujian Province last night, as of 16:00 yesterday, a total of 32 confirmed cases and 32 asymptomatic infections have been detected in Putian, Fujian, mainly in Fengting Town, Xianyou County. In some surrounding areas, it has been basically determined that the infection is caused by the Delta strain.

From the report of 6 positive cases on the 10th, to 24 cases of positive infections on the 11th, and then to the 64 cases of positive infections reported on the afternoon of the 12th, the working group experts judged that the current situation of the epidemic is severe and complex, and follow-up in communities, schools, factories, etc. There is a high possibility that cases will continue to be found in the population, and there is a risk of spillover of the epidemic.

Yesterday the working group also made some preliminary judgments during the discussion. There are four characteristics in total.

Experts from the working group said yesterday that in the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, speed determines the scale.

This speed mainly refers to the speed of nucleic acid detection, the speed of epidemiological investigation, and the speed of isolation and control.

The most effective way to keep the scale of the epidemic to a minimum and shorten the time to reduce spillover is to increase the speed and race against the virus. In our interview yesterday, we can see that the implementation of these measures is accelerating. Medical staff rushed to help Putian, and mobile inspection equipment such as cabins also arrived one after another. It is understood that Putian is currently undergoing inspections 24 hours a day. Today, inspection personnel and equipment will continue to arrive in Putian to supplement local strength.

According to the real-time report, the detection speed is expected to increase exponentially.
