(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) Indonesia's daily increase in cases drops to four months to new lows, Bali downgrades prevention and control levels

China News Agency, Jakarta, September 13th (Reporter Lin Yongchuan) Indonesian officials announced on the evening of the 13th that the prevention and control period for "emergency restrictions on social activities" that will expire on the same day will be extended for another week to the 20th of this month to "restrict" Bali. The level was downgraded from level four to level three.

According to the data reported by the Indonesian Ministry of Health that afternoon, there were 2577 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in the country in the past 24 hours, and a total of 41,70088 confirmed cases; 276 new deaths and a total of 139,165 deaths.

This is the country's lowest record for the number of new confirmed cases in a single day in four months, and the number of daily increases has dropped to the level before the second wave of the epidemic rebounded.

Indonesia’s Marine and Investment Coordinating Minister Luhut, who is in charge of the prevention and control of the epidemic in Java and Bali, said that the "emergency restrictions on social activities" prevention and control measures implemented on the two islands from July 3 have achieved good results.

Luhut said that "the epidemic has improved faster than the government estimated", so the government decided to "continue to maintain this trend" and extend the implementation period of the prevention and control measures by another week.

This is the ninth time the country has extended the implementation period of the prevention and control measures.

According to the local epidemic situation, the Indonesian government downgraded the prevention and control levels in many areas.

The level of prevention and control of tourist attractions in Bali has been lowered from level four to level three, including shopping malls, restaurants, religious sites, sports and leisure venues, etc., will be conditionally opened, and face-to-face teaching will be conditionally resumed.

Luhut also announced that the Indonesian government will use the new crown vaccination coverage rate as an indicator to adjust the level of prevention and control.

He said that if you want to adjust from the third level to the second level, the first dose vaccination rate in the area must reach 50%, and the elderly population must reach 40%; To reach 70%, the elderly vaccination rate must reach 60%.
