The 18th China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit will close today (13th). The cooperation between the two sides in economic, trade, investment and other fields has been further strengthened.

As the pace of my country's opening to the outside world continues to accelerate, the all-round cooperation between China and ASEAN is also deepening.

Focusing on sharing new opportunities for new land and sea channels, the China-ASEAN Multimodal Transport Alliance Service Center was unveiled at the summit.

It will create a China-ASEAN multimodal transport logistics service model represented by sea-rail combined transport, and accelerate the interconnection of infrastructure between the two sides.

Fan Yijiang, member of the Party Leadership Group of the Development and Reform Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region: In the

future, in addition to enhancing the logistics and transportation functions, it is also necessary to create a trade channel and an economic and industrial corridor connecting ASEAN.

The China-ASEAN Trade Index, which can not only provide scientific basis for government departments to formulate trade policies, but also provide information support for high-level "going out" and high-quality "bringing in" of import and export enterprises, was also released for the first time at the China-ASEAN Expo.

The China-ASEAN trade index in 2020 is 241.09 points, an increase of 19.64% compared to 2019 and an increase of 141.09% compared to 2010.

In addition, China-ASEAN cross-regional and cross-border industrial chain supply chain cooperation platform, China-ASEAN technology trading platform, China-ASEAN technology talent innovation station, etc. were also established and launched during the China-ASEAN Expo.

Luo Xiaomei, Deputy Director-General of the Asian Department of the Ministry of Commerce:

We and ASEAN countries will have more new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of manufacturing, agriculture, infrastructure, high-tech, digital economy, green economy, etc., and jointly build a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future.

This year is 30 years since China and ASEAN have established a dialogue relationship. In the past 30 years, the bilateral trade volume has increased from less than US$8 billion to US$684.6 billion last year, an increase of 85 times.

In 2020, China and ASEAN achieved a historic breakthrough in becoming each other's largest trading partners.

The first half of this year continued to show strong growth momentum.

In terms of investment, as of the end of June this year, the total cumulative mutual investment between China and ASEAN countries exceeded US$310 billion.

ASEAN is my country's main foreign investment destination and source of foreign direct investment.

The two sides have steadily expanded their investment cooperation in the fields of manufacturing, agriculture, infrastructure, high-tech, and digital economy.

With the acceleration of the construction of new land-sea corridors and the signing of the RCEP agreement, China-ASEAN interconnection cooperation will be further deepened, trade and investment facilitation between the two sides will be greatly improved, and mutual markets will be more open.

Zhang

Shaogang,

Vice President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade:

RCEP's greatest achievement is to integrate the entire Asia-Pacific region that was scattered in 15 countries' markets or the markets of the corresponding country into a large market with unified rules and unified markets.

Not only will it have an effect on the economic recovery of the Asia-Pacific region, but it will also have a very positive and powerful role in promoting the economic development of the entire world.
