The film producer Lisa Wahlbom is behind the documentary "The pioneers who took a seat in the Riksdag" which is about the five women, Kerstin Hesselgren, Elisabeth Tamm, Agda Östlund, Nelly Thüring and Bertha Wellin.

- It took courage to dare to stand on the barricade.

But that is still the case today if you are a politician, says Wahlbom.

Something that Wahlbom noticed is that many of the issues that women then fought for are still relevant today, 100 years later.

- For example, midwives' working conditions and the right to equal pay. A lot has happened in a hundred years, but there are still a lot of issues where we are not really there yet, she says.
