The spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in Canada refutes Canadian politicians' remarks on China-related issues during the election

China News Service, Toronto, September 10th. The spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in Canada made a statement on September 10 on some Canadian politicians' hype about China-related issues during the general election. He pointed out that some Canadian politicians have maliciously hyped up China-related issues recently. It also carried out unprovoked attacks on China's human rights and the rule of law, and grossly interfered in China's internal affairs. China firmly opposes this.

The spokesperson of the embassy stated that the great achievements made by the Communist Party of China in uniting and leading the entire Chinese people in various fields such as human rights cannot be denied by any person or force. The containment and suppression of the forces has changed.

The spokesman said that Canada itself has a bad record on human rights issues and is not qualified to make irresponsible remarks against China.

The act of pouring dirty water on China can neither wash away Canada’s historical sins on human rights issues, nor can it change Canada’s actual challenges on human rights issues.

The spokesperson emphasized that only by adhering to the principles of mutual respect and equal treatment can China-Canada relations maintain healthy and stable development.

Some Canadian politicians should be cautious in their words and deeds, proceed from the overall development of bilateral relations and the long-term interests of the two peoples, and do more to help improve bilateral relations and promote bilateral cooperation, rather than the opposite.
