China News Service, September 11, according to the South American Overseas Chinese News Network, Costa Rica President Carlos Alvarado (Carlos Alvarado) recently urged the world's major powers to fulfill their responsibilities, otherwise they will fail in the fight against climate issues.

According to reports, recently Argentina, Barbados, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, and Dominica have jointly held a high-level dialogue meeting on Climate Action in the Americas. Political dignitaries, business representatives, and academic representatives attended the meeting.

All parties hope that through this meeting, they will jointly propose a new plan to deal with climate issues, thereby enhancing the ability of countries to adapt to climate change.

Alvarado pointed out that most of the world’s carbon emissions are concentrated in the United States, India, Russia, Japan, Germany and other large countries, but Central and South America and the Caribbean are bearing the consequences of increased carbon emissions. Extreme weather events in Latin America It is also intensifying year by year.

Therefore, Alvarado urges the world’s major powers, including members of the Group of 20 (G20), to shoulder their responsibilities.

Alvarado metaphorically said: "The small hummingbird can do its best, but the larger hummingbird must also bear the corresponding responsibilities."

Alvarado emphasized: "We are making efforts, and the world's major powers must also make efforts, otherwise the countries of the world will fail in the fight against the climate crisis. We will never hope that this will happen."
