The head of the Cooperative Union of Fishermen's Societies, Suleiman Rashid Al-Antali, revealed to "Emirates Today" the response of government agencies to the complaint of fishermen in the area of ​​​​Daadna, represented by the absence of a gas station in the port, forcing them to travel a long distance with their private vehicles to buy it, indicating that a station will be provided. Al-Antali pointed out that the appropriate location for the mobile fuel station is being chosen, in cooperation with the responsible municipalities and with the help of maps, stressing the need to choose the location of the station in line with the required security and safety requirements, in order to preserve the lives of fishermen and residents of the area.

Al-Antali added that the initial approval was obtained from the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), which will make it easier for fishermen to go long distances to obtain fuel to supply their fishing boats daily or weekly, adding that the most important goals of the union is to stand with the fishermen, and spend their needs in a way that ensures continuity Preserving the fishing profession and overcoming the material and moral difficulties they face.

He stated that the union had monitored some of the basic needs of fishermen, which would reduce the burdens on fishing professionals, represented in fuel subsidies, in addition to the fishing means of citizens, which are among the main reasons for the decline in their profits from fishing operations.

The fisherman, Ahmed Obaid Al-Suraidi, from the Dadana area, confirmed that the port of Dadana lacks most of the services that are available in most of the country’s ports, represented by the absence of a gas station and an ice factory, or the availability of a market to sell fish, which makes it difficult for fishermen to make their daily fishing trips.

He noted that adhering to this profession is from the fisherman himself, despite his financial loss, and his failure to obtain sufficient financial profit to cover the expenses imposed on him, especially since most of the fishermen are senior citizens who depend on their pension salaries only, which makes it difficult for them to bear the burdens of daily fishing trips.

The fisherman, Mohammed Rashid, supported him in his opinion, saying: “Most of the fishermen face daily challenges, due to the lack of most of the services that they should have, such as a fuel station, in the port of Adana, noting that the fishermen suffer from the lack of their own ice factory and a fish market, which enables them to From making their profits in a better way in the area that is devoid of any source of selling fish, and its people are forced to travel distances to buy it, while its fishermen suffer from the distance of the fish markets in which they sell your fish.
