Al-Sisi reveals his position on freedom of belief .. “What bothers you as a Muslim when you see a church or a synagogue?

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi called for respecting the freedom of belief of others, during his launch ceremony today, the National Strategy for Human Rights.

Al-Sisi said: We must respect the freedom of belief and the freedom not to believe, stressing that “this does not conflict with his zeal for his religion.”

He continued: “What bothers you as a Muslim when you see a church or a synagogue?

Whoever wants to convert will be embraced, and whoever wants to believe does not believe... and this is freedom from a religious perspective.”

And he continued: I respect the non-belief, even if one said that I am not a religion in the world, you are free.

Al-Sisi added: “Those who think that they possess cultural distinction and try to impose it on other societies are taking a dictatorial path.”

He concluded: "Some countries have suffered because of a gap between the locomotive mentality and social reality, so peoples moved with good faith or bad faith to demolish their countries."

On documenting the divorce, the Egyptian president commented: "I understood the matter, and the Personal Status Law allows the state to do so."

He continued, "If we are serious Muslims and humane ones, we must treat women with all respect."
