The public prosecutor's office in Lüneburg is investigating several Bundeswehr reservists who are said to have formed a right-wing military sports group. It had previously become known that the police had searched several objects of suspected right-wing extremists in three federal states in a large-scale operation. There are a total of nine suspects, including six reservists, said a spokeswoman for the Lüneburg public prosecutor's office on Friday. There were searches of seven suspects, including four reservists. The "Spiegel" had previously reported.

The officers found weapons, weapon parts and ammunition, the prosecution spokeswoman said.

A “not insignificant proportion” of the weapons must first be examined, so far they have not been able to say anything about the finds.

The suspects are male and 37 to 53 years old.

According to the Interior Ministry of Lower Saxony, there were searches on Wednesday in Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Berlin.
